Our Christian life is an ongoing journey. On this journey we often wander off course. In the Sacrament of Penance we celebrate God’s mercy and God’s willingness to forgive us for our sins and failures to live as children of God. The Sacrament of Penance recognizes our honest acknowledgement of our need for God’s mercy and our desire for ongoing conversion.
We celebrate Penance Saturday at 4:00 pm till 4:30 pm, or by appointment. We also have special Service of Reconciliation with the Sacrament of Penance held in several Waterloo parishes during one week in Advent and one week in Lent.
For those children preparing to receive the Sacrament of Penance for the first time, a special preparation program is offered in the parish each year, beginning in September. Contact Coordinator of Youth and Children’s Ministries, Kelly Krause.
