Visitors and Newcomers

visitorsWe are the oldest parish in Waterloo, Ontario, located very near the uptown. Since the beginning, the parish priests have come from the Congregation of the Resurrection.

We pride ourselves on a lively liturgy, a welcoming attitude, and an extensive outreach program to our own members and to those who need help in our community. This is all supported by a large number of actively participating members.

We invite you to attend Eucharist with us, introduce yourself, and become involved in the parish.

Time for Eucharist and sacraments are listed at the front page and links exist to more detailed information. You can also browse recent parish bulletins, which may provide you with some idea of what goes on here. If you want to meet people in the parish, drop in at hospitality sessions in the basement of the church, between the 9:30 and 11:30 Sunday Eucharist.

Take time to explore the site. The major topics correspond to the navigation bar along the top. We have many opportunities for your involvement either as a provider or recipient of “services”. The activities include liturgical, outreach, children and youth development, adult education, spiritual formation, and social activities. Check Parish EnrichmentFaith Formation and Outreach for an overview of current programs. Contact our Pastoral Team to help you get started.

If you want to ponder a bit before you plunge in, try Faith Development or Faith in Action to find some ideas. If you are seeking help with something, you are welcome to make an appointment.

St. Louis Parish no longer operates its own school. However, we do offer sacramental preparation programs for children and adults. If you have children, you should call the office and talk to someone about getting your children involved in the parish. There are many ways to do this.

If you have not yet registered with the parish, please ask an Usher at the main entrance to the church. Return the completed form in the collection or to the office, so that we can make you part of our community. We provide you with envelopes for weekly contribution; these are needed for a charitable income tax receipt at the end of the year.

We want to welcome you in person, so please make yourself known to us.
We hope to see you soon!
