LENT 2017

Ash Wednesday on March 1st  marks
the beginning of the Season of Lent.

It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.

  • Ash Wednesday Masses at  9am, 12:10 (noon) and 7pm
  • Daily Masses during Lent: Tuesday – Friday 9 am
  • Stations of the Cross: Fridays at 7 pm

  • Study and Faith Enrichment programs at St. Louis:
    • Monday nights at 7:30 in the Large Hall – The Eucharist – DVD series by Bishop Robert Barron – concludes on March 27th with a Mass in the Church
    • Tuesdays at noon in the Nursery – The Lamb’s Supper by Scott Hahn
    • Thursday mornings at 9:30 am in the Large Hall – Small Christian Community
    • Thursday afternoons at 1 pm in the Large Hall – Study of The Gospel of Matthew
  • CWL Lenten Retreat at St. Agnes’ Church, Waterloo on Saturday. March 11th – Mass: 9 am, Session at 9:30 am on The Sacrament of Reconciliation  – Fr. Alex Mazur S.A.C.
  • The Joy of Love Lenten Series at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Kitchener  on Thursdays (March 9, 23, 30 and April 6)  – Mass at 1 pm, talk at 1:30 pm by Fr. Joseph de Viveiros, C. R.

Fridays are days of abstinence from meat, but Catholics may substitute special acts of charity or piety on this day. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting and abstinence from meat.
