Year of St. Joseph

Pope Francis proclaims “Year of St Joseph” - Vatican News

Pope Francis, in his Apostolic Letter Patris Corde, decreed that from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021 a Year of St. Joseph will be celebrated by all the faithful. The aim of this proclamation is to “perpetuate the entrustment of the whole Church to the powerful patronage of the Guardian of Jesus” and for the faithful to “commit themselves, with prayer and good works, to obtain, with help of St. Joseph, comfort and relief from the serious human and social tribulations that besiege the contemporary world today.”

(December 8th, 2020 marked the 150th anniversary of the Proclamation of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church by Blessed Pius IX in Quemadmodum Dues.)
